| ACAI TOUR – CITY TOUR
To begin, we will visit the Municipal Market, a
replica of “Les Halles” in Paris where we will see local products including
fruits, medicinal plants, fish, cereal, etc being sold. The next stop will
be to see the exterior of
Rio Negro Palace, today the seat of local governament, another example
of the wealth of the rubber boom. At. The Indian Museum we will come
to know the culture of the indigenous people of the Rio Negro, with exhibits
of domestic utensils, weapons used for war and for hunting etc. Afterwards
in the Natural Science Museum, we will find insects, animals and
various types of fish and alligators. The famous Amazon Theatre,
nearly 100 years old, now perfectly restored, is one of the major monuments
of the economic boom of the rubber years. Inside we will visit the CIGS
Military Zoo where we will observe the different species which live in
this area.
